SNL’s take on the Smart Home and the Internet of Things (IOT) seemed to hit the nail on the head for me. However, rather than literally going up your butt to get information, IOT runs on your data and basically invades your privacy. I’m ok with my car having automatic setting for me (that I set myself) but I don’t think I care if my toaster or anything else conforms to my settings in exchange for basically using my data. I know that in the world of data brokers, it is pretty much a moot point. We don’t live in a world where we have privacy anymore. At least they aren’t going up your butt to get it–well, at least not yet that is.
