As tired of this election season as we all are, we cannot go back to business as usual. Personally, my new mantra is “This Is NOT NORMAL,” and we cannot allow our News Media to normalize this global error in judgment. I blame the media for providing Trump with hours of free air time because it boosted their ratings. They legitimized him simply by covering the inflammatory things he said and did and then in the name of “fair and balanced” coverage–actually escalated the non-charges leveled against his opponent.
This is not the new normal. We have an unqualified man about to live (part-time) in the White House who has opened the door to the highest office in the land to known hate groups and people who have made careers out of being raging bigots.
Remember, none of this is normal. It is more than a hashtag. This is the way our life is now and it is not okay. I for one am not going to “give him a chance.” I will work every day to make sure that we hold those who handed over our government to a giant toddler and his band of merry xenophobes, racists, bigots and misogynists.
